Problem reproduced.... 
CONFIG_SCSI_QLA2XXX=y appears in the config file when you run make
menuconfig (or make config) and only save the default settings.

1) run make menuconfig
2) save the config w/out changing any default options
3) grep -ri qla2xxx .config
