Yes, my understanding is that it affects 2.6.10 (and perhaps later)
but not 2.6.8 which is the target for sarge.

What initrd tools tries to do is load all the modules and
then unload the uneeded one. Arguably this can be improved,
but I don't think it is a problem for 2.6.8. And furthermore
I understand the longterm plan is that 2.6 should support rmmoding
of ide modules, but it can't for now because of some locking
brokenness.
