Bug#295281: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-k7
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-k7
Version: 2.6.8-13
I upgraded the kernel package from
ii kernel-image-2.6.7-1-k7 2.6.7-2
to 2.6.8; my ipod no longer is recognized.
Installed:
kp@groucho:~$ dpkg -l |grep discover
ii discover1 1.7.7 hardware identification system
ii discover1-data 1.2005.01.08 hardware lists for libdiscover1
ii libdiscover1 1.7.7 hardware identification library
ii libhowl0 0.9.8-2 Library for Zeroconf service discovery
kp@groucho:~$ dpkg -l |grep hotplug
ii hotplug 0.0.20040329-1 Linux Hotplug Scripts
With the 2.6.7 kernel I get
Feb 14 21:03:50 groucho kernel: scsi0 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394
SBP-2 Devices
Feb 14 21:03:50 groucho kernel: ip1394: $Rev: 1224 $ Ben Collins
<bcollins@debian.org>
Feb 14 21:03:50 groucho kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: Logged into SBP-2 device
Feb 14 21:03:50 groucho kernel: Vendor: Apple Model: iPod
Rev: 1.50
Feb 14 21:03:50 groucho kernel: Type: Direct-Access
ANSI SCSI revision: 02
With 2.6.8
Feb 14 21:11:55 groucho kernel: SCSI subsystem initialized
Feb 14 21:11:55 groucho kernel: sbp2: $Rev: 1219 $ Ben Collins
<bcollins@debian.org>
The device is not recognized, the display on the ipod does not show the
"Do not remove" icon.
The only difference is that I boot different kernels mounting the same
system.
