Bug#292665: kernel-image-2.6.10-1-686: intensive usage of usb-storage causes high iowait
Package: kernel-image-2.6.10-1-686
Version: 2.6.10-4
Severity: important
Hi,
I use an usb 2.0 disk for a local debian mirror.
When I launch debmirror and it begins to parse the local mirror
contents, iowait rises to 100% and never drops to normal levels,
debmirror goes in D+ state and then the machine gets really slow.
I'm also unable to shutdown the machine correctly.
Everything works great with the 2.6.9-2-686 I'm using now or with the
previous subversion of 2.6.10: debmirror goes for just some seconds in
D+ and then back to a running state; iowait rises, but it doesn't reach
100%.
Thanks,
Manuele
