Bug#289679: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686 pivot_root failture on Proliant 3000

After the kernel is loaded, the system can not switch the root filesystem.
There is an pivot_root failture.
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 426: cannot open /dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
It seems that the cpqarray could be loaded (he detect the partitions), but
may be the SCSI module should be loaded, too. On a Kernel 2.4.27 it's the
sym53c8xx_2 module. So may be this should be added to the initrd.
It would be nice to have the 2.6er Kernel on this system, but an Proliant
3000 is an old Server, may be you don't support it further. On the 2.4.27
everything works fine.
