Presumably there are some corner cases, but the last time I
saw a post on this from Jeff Garzik his position was that 
eepro100 should be removed and if there are problems with 
e100 they should be fixed. I don't think there have been 
any particularly strong objections or problems brought forward.

As for loading e100 instead of eepro100, isn't this just a matter
of setting up an alias for modutils. Or at worst a symlink somewhere.
Personally I would be infavour of doing neigther. But I could be swayed.
