Bug#272233: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7: boot stuck displaying "usb"
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7
Version: 2.6.8-4
Followup-For: Bug #272233
Hi.
I don't know exactly if this is the same issue, but since this seems to be usb related...
I noticed that with the latest update to kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7 in testing (2.6.8-4), I can no longer boot successfully :(
I had to switch back to 2.6.7.
The boot process runs for a while, until I get some modules loading process or something like that (hotplug or discover maybe), displaying several hardware categories in an indented list... and it stops after having displayed usb.
The display looks like :
...
...
...
usb
I can type in RETURN and see the screen scroll...
I noticed no timeout... but didn't wait for much time.
The keyboard is reactive (shift-lock lights up the leds, etc.).
With the previous release of the same kernel, it worked allright.
Dunno if this is the same problem, but in any case it seems related to usb also ?
I don't know how to provide more diagnostics... cause maybe this is not really a problem with the new kernel ? Although that's probably the only thing "candidate to such a bug" that changed during the daily update of apt-get dist-upgrade.
Hope this helps.
