Wrong. You need to install your own kernel headers after configuration.
So install kernel-headers-2.4.26-<yourflavor> for debian kernels
or compile and use your own kernel and use that.

Perfectly working. The only issue is the use of 2.6 with udev: unfortunately
vm devices are not persistent and you need to reconfig after
boot or hack udev configuration properly.
