I doubt this applies in this case though.

Probably 2.6.8 development branch fixes and backports ?

Or why my soft-ADLS pci card has only x86 soft-ADSL library ? Or why ATI
and NVidia are allowed to release binary only modules, even though
linking those with the GPLed kernel is illegal, and thus 3D accel is not
available on those nifty new powerbooks ?
