Bug#286078: kernel-source-2.6.8: speedstep-centrino: New Pentium M 7*5 not recognized (fixed in 2.6.9)
Package: kernel-source-2.6.8
Version: 2.6.8-10
Severity: normal
Hi,
2.6.8-1-686: speedstep-centrino does not know the new Pentium M 7*5
(in my case in a new Dell Latitude D600, bios A14):
kernel: speedstep-centrino: found unsupported CPU with Enhanced SpeedStep:
send /proc/cpuinfo to Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy@goop.org>
kernel 2.6.9-1-686 speedstep-centrino does not complain. Please
backport to 2.6.8. I hope it's not too late for sarge ;)
Here cpuinfo of 'unknown' Pentium-M:

cpu family : 6
model : 13
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.80GHz

'first generation' Pentium-M (model 9) in an older D600
is okay in 2.6.8 and 2.6.9.

To me vi is Zen. To use vi is to practice zen. Every command is
a koan. Profound to the user, unintelligible to the uninitiated.
You discover truth everytime you use it.
