I'm still running 2.4.x, but the original reason I filed the bug was not because I needed the driver, but because a rebuild of some Debian kernel package on PowerPC failed in this driver. Disabling the driver for PowerPC is just as good a fix as deleting it, from my point of view. Thanks for following up. -- G.
