Bug#283619: kernel-image-2.6.8-powerpc: Please rebuild against latest kernel-source 2.6.8-9
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-powerpc
Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole
Jens, please, can you do a rebuild of the 2.6.8 (and probably 2.6.9 too)
kernels, since there was a new release of the kernel-source package, which
includes security fixes among many other changes :
* [SECURITY] Fix problems in binfmt_elf loader; see
http://isec.pl/vulnerabilities/isec-0017-binfmt_elf.txt for more
details (Andres Salomon).
* [SECURITY] Further smbfs overflow fixes, stolen from -ac tree
(Andres Salomon).
* Security: fix race conditions in linux terminal subsystem (CAN-2004-0814)
(dann frazier)
If you haven't replied to this soonishly, i will try building those kernels
myself and upload them, hope this is ok with you.
