During the boot of kernel 2.6.9 from package kernel-image-
2.6.9-1-686 sometimes a sharp noise comes up while applying
aumix mixer settings. It sounds like if you switch on the TV
and have no TV station tuned in. The noise comes from the TV
card's channel, because I can adjust its volume by moving
the volume switch in aumix for the TV card. The card is a
Medion with a Philips SAA7134 chip. OSS is used here.
To me it seems, that always when the TV card module is
being loaded, the TV card sound is being switched on.
When the noise problem did not accur during booting, there
is another interesting thing: When I start Nextview EPG
(nxtvepg), which is an electronic program guide, I can hear
the sound of the TV station currently tuned in. The EPG does
not provide any TV screen output and should not provide any
audio output either. The TV sound does not disappear when
closing Nextview EPG. To get rid of it, I have to start a TV
application like xawtv, MoTV or tvtime and close it.
This cannot be a problem of the EPG decoder, because I have
not updated this program in the meantime (still 2.7.1-1) and
there were no problems with kernel 2.6.8.
The two problems did not occur with kernel 2.6.8.
