Bug#283188: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686-smp: IDE cd not detected unless module ide_generic is loaded

This problem is identical to the issue reported in Bug#280112 (which
was closed since the kernel version wasn't supported any longer). The
problem is that the IDE DVD device is not detected during boot, I have
to manually load (or through /etc/modules) ide_generic. After that the
IDE DVD works fine.
I can reproduce this using the 2.6.8 kernel under testing, though I
have a different motherboard and IDE controller compared to Bug#280112:
