Bug#282964: You want broken drivers - you get broken drivers...

retitle 282964 kernel: don't allow users to shoot themselve into the foot
severity 282964 wishlist
tags 282964 +patch

Hi Martin,

it seems you disabled the option

  Code maturity level options
    Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers
      Select only drivers expected to compile cleanly

It's known that some drivers do not compile and marked in the Kconfig
files. And if you choose to try to compile them anyway, they do
*surprise,surprise* not always compile.

It's part of the UNIX philosophy that if you really want to shoot
yourself into the foot, the system will not prevent your will.

But in case Debian users shouldn't be allowed to shoot themselves into
their foots, the following will suffice:

--- init/Kconfig.old	2004-11-25 21:26:59.000000000 +0100
+++ init/Kconfig	2004-11-25 21:28:10.000000000 +0100
