Hi Martin

The patch is in the tree, I think a few people have tested it,
bit I am not sure.

There are a few different kernel-source packages effected,
here is status summary:

kernel-source-2.6.9: Fixed in 2.6.9-1 release (probably still stuck in new)
kernel-source-2.6.8: Patch applied in SVN. Not released
kernel-source-2.6.7: Not maintained
kernel-source-2.4.27: Patch applied in SVN. Not released
kernel-source-2.4.26: Patch applied in SVN, but we aren't maintaining
this code any more, so there are no plans for a
		      new release, ever.

I am guessing you are asing about releasing an updated package,
so I will speak to that for a moment.

We have not released an updated package to fix this bug.
I will stand corrected on this, but IMHO there is nothing in
the tree right now that would prevent us from making a release
right now. We have a mountain of bugs logged against the kernel,
but I am not aware of anything that means we couldn't make a release
now. By that I mean, I don't think we would be going backwards.

What I say above applies to both kernel-source-2.4.27 and
kernel-source-2.6.8. I don't think anything else is of concern
at this point.
