Bug#272693: (no subject)

To whom it may concern;

I have a similar bug to this one, at least I think it is. During boot, using the 2.6.8 kernel, the boot process will hang at the point where hotplug is loading the usb modules. The computer recognizes both my scanner and printer, but then when hotplug goes to load the modules I get the following error: control timeout on ep0in. It hangs at that point and I have to hit the reset buttton or power button, uplug the usb devices and then it will boot successfully.

If I unplug the USB devices during boot, and then do a "/etc/init.d/hotplug restart" from the command line hotplug is able to load the correct modules without hanging. Even this will fail though if I boot into another kernel (2.4.26) and then go back to the 2.6.8 kernel. Once I do that hotplug will always hang at loading usb modules. I am running an AMD Athlon (800mhz) on a Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 motherboard. I have sarge installed.
