Hi Jens.

I think now that we have some spare place on the kernel, that it would make
sense to have at least the at kbd builtin (the usb one pulls in too much stuff
i think). It is a real pain to setup, and discover/hotplug/whatever doesn't
find those themselves, and more to the point it makes the system unusable in
case of early problem.

I am trying to get the atkbd get included in the initrd, but failed to do so
right now, so another solution if that works would be to modify initrd-tools
to have them included by default, but i open this bug report to start a
discussion about this.

More to this once i am safely back home and really have time to play with it.

I can't believe I actually bothered to check this, but it turned out
that getting support for an AT keyboard into the initrd is a matter of
putting the modules into /etc/mkinitrd/modules and rebuilding the
whole shebang. This is such a small effort that it does not justify
building the drivers into the kernel, especially since they are
useless anyway on most systems.

And I am closing it to show there is no need to clutter the BTS with
such things. If you want to discuss further, do it on debian-kernel.

Regards, Jens.
