Hello kernel team,
I'm maintaining packages for the ifenslave utility. This utility is
distributed with the kernel sources, in the Documentation/networking/
directory. This utility is necessary to configure bonding devices.
However, the ioctl interface changes from kernel version to kernel
version. In the past I split the package into ifenslave-2.4 and
ifenslave-2.6, but now it seems the latest 2.4 kernels use the 2.6
interface (see bugs #257284 and #270416). Instead of fixing these bugs
myself somehow and waiting for the next incompatible change to happen, I
was wondering if an ifenslave package could be generated from the
kernel-image source packages?
