Bug#271089: Kernel support for autofs version 4
Package: kernel-source-2.4.27
Hi, I'm the upstream maintainer of autofs version 4.
Now that autofs version 4.1.3 has been uploaded to the experimental area
by Arthur Korn I'm hoping that the autofs4 kernel patches can be
integrated into the Debian kernel source.
After discussion with Arthur about the update he recommened I post a bug
report asking if it would be possible to include my patch in the Debian
2.4.27 source package.
The most significant bug that this patch fixes is a race in the waitq
processing of simulanteous mount requests. Also, when autofs v4 detects
its presence, additional features are available. The most important of
these being browsable automount directories (coined as ghosting
directories in Linux autofs).
The patch is a bit large so I have placed it at:
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/raven
in
autofs4-module-2.4.22.patch
It applies cleanly to 2.4.27 and is essentially the same as what has been
included in the 2.6.7 release. Please note that this patch is slightly
different to patches found on kernel.org and in the autofs distribution as
a few hunks have already been included in 2.4.27.
Sincerly
Ian Kent
