the problem occurs at the beginning of the boot process, right after
mounting the initrd ant launching it's init, I got those messages:

SCSI: subsystem initialized
udf: registering file system
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 426: cannot open dev/console: No such file
kernel panic: Attempted to kill init

a 2.6.8.1 made a while ago works just fine.

maybe it is an initrd bug ?
