I'm concernd about the status of the 2.6.8 packages, which have been held out of testing for the past week by bug #269164, which nobody seems to be working on (based on the nil response to the report). Since we were told 2.6.8 was to be the release kernel for sarge, we've switched the installer to use it, but we can't finish the switch or release a new release candidate of the installer while the kernel is not yet in testing.
Is anything going to be done about the audio cd burning memory leak [0] and the problems with cdrecord [1]?
The cdrecord problem seems to be more important, as the RC bug caused by cdrtools' license [2] hampers fixed versions entering Sarge, and the cdrtools maintainer says on his website, "If you have related problems, try to call cdrecord as real root or go back to Linux-2.4".
Although I have no problems running cdrecord with sudo, this totally breaks cd recording in GUI apps, and is not something I would like to see users of Sarge lumbered with for two years after its release. :(
