it seems that this is also a bug in the 2.4.18 kernel, at least
according to this URL:

In this case this is a security problem for the kernel 2.4.18 pacakages
in stable IMHO, e.g.  kernel-source-2.4.18


Is anyone working on a new security release for 2.4.18?
