Bug#260067: initrd-tools: mkinitrd add too many modules with MODULES=dep, should add a way to add only modules in modules
Package: initrd-tools
Version: 0.1.71
Severity: normal
Ok, i am trying to build an initrd which is less than 1.5MB compressed
in order to boot on pegasos 1 which have such a constraint.
Using modules=dep will cause a bunch of modules to be included (all ide
drivers possible, all filesystem), and thus cause the size to be too
big.
mkinitrd should either be teached to be more selective in the modules
included, as the mkinitrd.conf man page suggest for MODULES=dep, and/or
a way of saying MODULES=only or something such, which will take only the
hand selected modules in /etc/mkinitrd/modules and include those in the
initrd.
Friendly,
Sven Luther
