Bug#257950: kernel-source-2.6.7: trying to use webcam on USB hub tends to crash the system
Package: kernel-source-2.6.7
Version: 2.6.7-2
Severity: normal
I have two webcam: Creative CPiA-based, and Labtec-branded quickcam
(using the external module). Both work correctly when plugged into the
computer but not when plugged into an hub. Camera are properly detected
and assigned, but any v4l app will hang when opening the device. Then
killing the unresponsive v4l app will cause the kernel to panic.
