I had the same issue as well, with 2.6.6-2 breaking horribly (and 2.6.6-1
working fine) w/ the latest initrd-tools. Unfortunately, I couldn't get
the initial error message, since it scrolled by to quick; my laptop
doesn't have an external serial port.
