compiling a binary package of kernel
Hi,
if this is not the right list please accept my apologies and let me know where should I post this question on Debian lists.
I want to know
1) a package Xen http://packages.debian.org/sid/xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 how is it compiled so that it can be shipped on CD or installed from your repos.
I compiled a xen thing but that works only on my machine.
2) The kernel image here http://packages.debian.org/sid/kernel-image-2.6.37-1-amd64-di
what is the process of converting the kernel image to binary.
I have compiled the kernels in past but not any such kernel which can work on another machine.How do you convert it to binary so that it can be shipped on Debian ISO.
