Hello Gary,

Is there a way to get the new Kate to import the katesession files?
Many apps are now using ~/.config - Kate included. Maybe copy for
session settings there.

Nothing there for kate or even for kde. I'm sure that Kate sessions are stored somewhere because I created one and can go back into it but I can't find it anywhere in my home. Perhaps sessions aren't stored in separate files anymore, but I can't find any kate configuration that lists sessions either.

And when Kontact is upgraded, will I lose my "settings" (calendar,
contacts, etc. are considered to be "settings") there too?
I don't use Kontact, just KOrganiser, and didn't lose my reminders,
etc. I have found that, for some reason, some of the colour settings
for Event type aren't being used.

I haven't lost my Kontact "settings" yet either AFAIK, but then Kontact is still version 4.14.10, not a 5. However it's just become useless because it can't connect to Akonadi, giving the error message "The Akonadi personal information management service is not operational", so I can't see my calendar or contacts.
