Is KDE 3.2 Any Faster ?
An article over at OS News suggests we can expect significant speed
improvements in KDE 3.2 :

Does anyone who's tried the KDE 3.2 beta on Debian have any personal
opinion on this ?
[On my 500MHz CPU 256Mb RAM machine KDE 3.1.4 is noticeably more
sluggish than NT4 Workstation - though I should acknowledge that
Woody_KDE-3.1.4 reaches the login prompt a lot faster than NTWS - it's
_after_ that point that KDE becomes slow.]
