Re: KDE 3.1.4 kdesktop crash and restart

Tanks for the reply.

I have set every pachage in autostart with the option --noxim and kde start and work fine.

But every time i start a new program without --noxim it crash, the system error dialog is show and closed (for the same problem). If i start a program using the start application option and i set the application name with --noxim paramter it work fine.

XIM is the X Input Method but exist server (xcim) only for oriental enviroment.

Is possible to set a config option to autoset --noxim for every application ?

There are some problems with those packages...
A quick way to "fix" that is copying the /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc to
/usr/share/config/kde/kdm/kdmrc (i am not completely sure about the last
path) and restarting kdm with /etc/init.d/kdm/restart.

The other problem seems to affect only to powerpc architectures and it
affects to KMail (maybe others). It makes KMail crash when receives a mail
with a big attach... but i think it is fixed in the cvs sources so we only
have to wait for a package.
;-)

I have install kde using the this apt: deb
http://download.kde.org/stable/3.1.4/Debian stable main

Starting kde (using startkde into .xinitrc) the splash work fine but
every starting dialog (kandalf, first setup) is show and immediatly is
closed.

At the end the desktop, some icon (debian, trash) and the bottom bar is
displayed but when i move the pointer into the bottom bar or when i
press the mouse button into the desktop or if i click an icon the
kdestop write into the console '*** kdestop (PID) got signal 11' and all
object is redrawed.

arts work fine, i can hear the starting sound.

The bottom bar is full filled with clock and all other dock applet.

My current debian version is the stable with some testing package but...
i don't remember wich one.

Tanks in andanced.
