Problem with upgrading to KDE 3.1.1 on Debian woody

Dear Folks,

I posted the message below to Ralf Nolden who gave me a reply and asked to follow up with this mailing list:
---------- Original Message---------------
I started out with KDE 2.2.2 on Debian woody in December 2002 and later unknowingly upgraded to KDE 3.1.0 via my /etc/apt/sources.list file which had the lines:

#
# Latest KDE debs for woody in Australia.
#
deb http://download.au.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/latest/Debian/ woody main
#
# KDE 3.1 stable distribution
#
deb http://download.kde.org/stable/3.1/Debian stable main

However, these links are not active now and a few bugs I had reported to KDE are now fixed: so I wanted the KDE 3.1.1 for Debian.

The KDE Debian FAQ at http://davidpashley.com/debian-kde/faq.html pointed me to your site and I read Ralf Nolden's very helpful and detailed write up on upgrading at http://devel-home.kde.org/~nolden/kde/README

I carefully performed all the dpkg --purge --force-all operations that he suggested.

I then did apt-get install kdebase kdm and everything was OK

I then did apt-get install kdenetwork : still OK.

When I did apt-get install kdepim trouble struck. I was instructed to do apt-get -f install and this is what happens then:

In any case, I persisted and did apt-get install for the other kdepackage sets on Ralf's list. Some gave errors saying this:
******
apt-get install kdegames

Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
kaddressbook: Depends: kdepim-libs (>= 4:3.1.1) but it is not going to be installed kandy: Depends: kdepim-libs (>= 4:3.1.1) but it is not going to be installed kdegames: Depends: kenolaba (>= 4:3.1.1-0woody1) but 4:3.1.0-0woody2 is to be installed Depends: kfouleggs (>= 4:3.1.1-0woody1) but 4:3.1.0-0woody2 is to be installed Depends: kjumpingcube (>= 4:3.1.1-0woody1) but 4:3.1.0-0woody2 is to be installed Depends: klickety (>= 4:3.1.1-0woody1) but 4:3.1.0-0woody2 is to be installed Depends: klines (>= 4:3.1.1-0woody1) but 4:3.1.0-0woody2 is to be installed ........
******

I still have KDE running and am unsure whether it is broken or not. What would you advise because apt-get gives me the warning message each time I use it and I want to get rid of it!

---------- Reply from Ralf Nolden was to do ---------------

dpkg --purge --force-all kalarmd libkcal2

apt-get -f install

---------- End ---------------

and this is what I get as a result:

Since Ralf has pointed me to this mailing list, I have directed my second query here.

Please advise me if there is a way to get rid of the warning once and for all: I do not need the kdepim etc. I just want to be rid of the warning :-)

I eagerly look forward to your reply. Many thanks.
