aRts is a seperate package from kdemultimedia. You'll need to download that and compile it before you compile kdemultimedia.
Also, Linux has poor support for hardware midi. aRts, I believe, uses timidity, a software emulated midi. timidity is somewhere out there, but I don't know where.
