I have similar problems. I have three invalid mixers, one is called 
'Creative SBLive', one 'TriTech (3)' and the third 'TriTech TR28023'. 
The real mixer is called 'Creative SBLive - Emu10k1'.

Even more, though, KMix doesn't start when I run it for the first 
time. When I run it from the command line it doesn't output a single 
word but just exits after ~0.5-1 seconds. Only when I run it for the 
second time does the window appear.

I've got no clue what this is about.
