Indeed, I tried it and the fatal io error continues, but the init_*
errors disappeared. I just get "DCOPServer up and running" followed by
"kdeinit: fatal io error: client killed" and the session aborts.

Me too, but on a Compaq Presario 1200 notebook, model 1200XL426.

Any clues?
