Strange this should work out of the box.
Try the following:
==================
1. Start Konqueror and open Settings->Configure Konqueror
2. Chose File Associations
or:
1. Start the Control Center
2. Chose File Browsing->File Associations
and:
3. select text/html
4. In the "General" tab there should be Konqueror on top in the
application preference order. If its not there add it.
5. In the "Embedding" tab there should be KHTML on top in of the
Services Preference Order. Add it if it is missing.
If you want Konqueror to show a html file embedded (= in the filemanager)
"Show files in selected viewer" must be selected. If you want it to open
it in a separate window "Show file in separate viewer" must be selected.
Thats it, now Konqueror should show the html files the way you want it.
If it still doesn't work which should not occur, open a konsole and type
"kbuildsycoca" to rebuild the system configuration cache.
You can do the same with all the other file associatons, too. You can even add
file associations missing for you. For instance you could add a new mime type
for StarOffice, calling it application/x-staroffice and assigning the file
extension "*.sd?". Then set the staroffice binary as the program to be
executed. For me its "/usr/local/office52/program/soffice". To launch
StarOffice when you click on a *.sda, *.sdb,.... file select "Show file in
separate viewer" in the Embedding tab of the application/x-staroffice mime
type. There is no way for Konqueror to show it embedded because staroffice
components are not KDE compatible.
Note: Mime types which are not standardized should use a "x-" in front of
their name. For ex.: Do not use application/staroffice, but
application/x-staroffice instead.
Hope this helps!
