modprobe crashed trying to load 'snd' in /etc/init.d/alsa.
Apparently this wiped out all the kernel modules that were already loaded.
(sound and networking)
Hm, nothing depends on alsa-base anymore! I think I had to install it for
some version of libasound. apt-get remove --purge alsa-base...
I don't see why Konqueror needs to have the network up to handle file: URIs.
