The magic isn't in the menu file, but in
/etc/menu-methods/translate_menus
Untested, but this should be what yuo are looking for:
subtranslate section->section
Apps/Graphics/ Coloring/
Apps/Editors/ Writing/
#...
endtranslate

Yes, both `child' and `aduld' should have one
translate_menus file.
