Support Tech and System/Network Administrator/Generalist



The Institute for Neuroscience and Medicine (Brain and Behavior, INM-7)
at the Jülich Research Center is looking to add an IT Support role to
its Data and Platforms team.

The job's primary duty is support, but is expected to take 50-60% of the
time. The group works on a wide variety of projects and relies heavily
on self-motivation, so there is a lot of diversity of potential
projects.

Of special relevance to this list: Almost all server infrastructure runs
Debian, as do many client machines. Software is deployed via Debian
packages (internal repository when necessary, public when possible). The
majority of software projects are open source and are hoped to be of
interest and value to external audiences as well.

The ideal candidate will handle their portion of support, is motivated,
contributes and expands the group's open-source ethos, and enjoys the
productive advantages of a flexible environment.
