Having worked with and interviewed less than stellar marketing and communications candidates, I wanted to see if anybody on debian-jobs has any knowledge/interest in marketing, outreach, education, and communications to help us expand our message and reach. This would be a paid contracted position that could grow in to a full-time position. We are an ethical manufacturer of computer hardware, and offer our own fork of Debian, PureOS, which is designed to work specifically with our hardware, and provide privacy protection, security defaults, and respect users' freedom as deep as possible. What we are seeking is somebody who is knowledgeable about the benefits of free software, but who can also communicate what we are doing at Purism to an expanding audience. An ideal candidate would have these criteria: 1) Understand the difference between open source and free software. 2) Understand how to communicate complex messaging simply. 3) Comfortable communicating on popular social services. 4) Eager to help expand the reach of freedom, privacy, and security for users.
