Hi there, We're looking to hire two new engineers onto the Canonical desktop team, which is the team that works on building Ubuntu desktop, a derivative of Debian that you might be familiar with. In particular we are keen to hear from people who - want to work on the distribution itself (packaging and archive maintenance with a desktop focus), and ideally have some experience in distro maintenance - are experienced in some middleware components of Linux desktops such as systemd, GStreamer and GTK+/Qt - are interested in new app distribution models: the team is going to be exploring how to best harness Snappy, which Canonical is currently investing in, for the desktop distribution See https://ldd.tbe.taleo.net/ldd03/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=CANONICAL&cws=1&rid=1146 and feel free to grab me via email or on IRC (Laney on all good networks) if you want some more information. Cheers, -- Iain Lane [ iain@orangesquash.org.uk ] Debian Developer [ laney@debian.org ] Ubuntu Developer [ laney@ubuntu.com ]
