Authentication and Authorisation in EU Projects



The Computer Centre of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is looking
for  Linux Administrators / Linux Developers. Starting in April
(negotiable), we work in international EU projects on PaaS and Big Data
infrastructures and on authorisation and authentication for research
communities. We focus on federated identity management aspects, ranging
from technology interoperability to the international compatibility of
policies and privacy laws.


Profile
-------
You are an experienced adminstrator with knowledge in at least one fo two
the fields of storage, cloud technologies, federated identity management,
IT security and  are familiar with privacy requirements.

You're comfortable with Linux System administrations, used other linux
distributions in addition to Debian GNU/Linux in particular and have some 
experience in languages such as bash, python, c/c++, java or perl.  Ideally 
you involved yourself in open source projects.

It's beneficial if you have experience with virtualization based on Xen,
KVN, or Docker and technologies such as CEPH, OpenStack or NFS, SAML but not a
prerequisite.

You are capable problem oriented, work autonomously, and you can spot and
solve problems without instructions, but you are also a team worker able
to bring your own ideas. We expect your willingness to learn new
technologies, and an affinity for free and open software.


About us
--------
We are a young ambitious and international team with an open working
atmosphere, flexible working hours and interesting tasks. We are involved
in several national and international projects in the field of storage and
identity mangement. We participate in the development of large scale test
pilots that sometimes evolve to infrastructures such as the LHC computing
grid for CERN. As such we operate large amounts of hardware (ranging from
arduionos and raspberry-pi via high performance computers to bleeding edge
inhouse testing faciliteis (e.g. 100 Gbit/s links 1TB memory machines,
...). We operate a total of three locations in Karlsruhe.

As a final note, and emphasized for the job offer on this list: You must
speak English fluently, must have a work permit for Germany or the
European Union. It is helpful to also learn a bit of german to ease
getting along with the local administration.
