You will be able to bring your formidable experience to bear in supporting the Pandora service and our rapidly expanding community of millions of listeners. This position is primarily on-site at our local data center in Ashburn, Virginia, with work at data center locations outside the local area multiple times per year, and occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Oakland, California. Responsibilities As a member of our Technical Operations team, you will have the opportunity to build, maintain, and run the company's core infrastructure. You will get to work as part of a team responsible for the daily operations of our co-location data centers and assume a critical role in maintaining the overall uptime, performance, and capacity of the Pandora service. You be able to participate in the forward-looking design and implementation of the company's high-volume system and network infrastructure, proactively identify and resolve problems, and provide timely response to production environment issues as they occur. As a member of our highly motivated team you should be dedicated to excellence and have a strong sense of personal responsibility. This is an excellent role for a seasoned professional with experience in a wide range of areas. Requirements • Minimum 7 years hands-on professional Linux experience • Experience building, supporting and troubleshooting multi-tier, high volume production web sites • At least 5 years of extensive PC Hardware maintenance and troubleshooting experience • Solid understanding of IP networking including Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting • Systems and automation programming skills with BASH, Perl or Python • Strong analytical skills applied to proactive monitoring and rapid response • Professional, can-do attitude with great communication and interpersonal skills • Reliable transportation to Ashburn, Virginia (available as needed, 24/7) • Willingness to do the physical work associated with server farms • 7x24x365 on-call support rotation • Up to 10% travel Desired • Significant training and experience in computer security practices • Experience with enterprise switches (Cisco, Force10, Arista) • System monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, Smokeping or similar tools) • Experience with host-based storage, hardware RAID, SAN and NAS technologies • BA/BS or better in Computer Science or a related field Response Instructions *** To Apply For This Position, Please Go To http://bit.ly/khc9Vk OR Email pandora-jobs@pandora.com (include job title in Subject) Principals Only.
