Maybe someone from the Java Team might be interested in mentoring this?

In case the scope might be a problem (see below), it's just a matter
of further discussing the idea. Of course, a prerequisite for this
would be getting a potential mentor :-)

Emmanuel, do you know if anyone from the Java Team might be interested
in mentoring for this? I know they have a project up for the Android
SDK, which is quite a bit more ambitious. I'm not actually sure if
this project is large enough in scope.
