why doesn't libsurefire-java have a changelog.gz ?
Dear all,
Thank you for maintaining surefire reports.
Please CC me if answering as I'm not subscribed to the list.
I have been trying out an app. which uses slightly older version of
surefire-java, 2.20.1 to be exact.
I tried going to apache site http://maven.apache.org/surefire/
and even in the source tarballs there isn't a changelog :(
the latest being libsurefire 2.22.0 .
I did look at /usr/share/doc/libsurefire-java$ ls
changelog.Debian.gz copyright
and even here we just have the downstream changelog and not the upstream one.
the jira changelog isn't public :(
https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/SUREFIRE?selectedItem=com.atlassian.jira.jira-projects-plugin%3Achangelog-panel
although if one wanted to people could perhaps put all the changes in
the log from the github mirror
https://github.com/apache/maven-surefire/commits/master and put it in
the package.
Would be helpful for sure to know what has changed underneath .
Currently it is a mystery unless one has the time and the patience to
read through all the commit messages.
I am open to filing a wishlist bug against libsurefire-java , getting
the surefire repo. and getting the git log > surefire-git.log which
will be a crude log if somebody has the time and patience to cherry
pick and share the important features, bug-fixes in the new releases.
It is also interesting to see the recent commits about openjdk11 support.
Thoughts ?
