As the original author of the libphonenumber Debian packaging, I can
say that if the packaging happens to be consistent with the current
standards, then that's pure luck.
But I would be happy to apply any patches that improve the current situation.
The current libphonenumber/debian is primarily there for people who
want to build and install their own packages on their own machine, but
if someone is interested in improving this to the point where the
packages would also be suitable for distrubution, then that would be
most welcome.
