Bug#612953: ITP: jam-lib -- Java applications look and behave like native applications
Hi,
I have injected packaging for lib-jam. As stated below it is in Debian
Med repository as precondition for Java Evolutionary Biology Library (to
be packaged soon).
I would like to let somebody from Java team to have a look at it (you
can get the upstream tarball by either "make -f debian/rules get-orig-source"
or "uscan --force-download"). Besides a general check of my first Java
library package I would like to know your opinion whether it should be
maintained in Debian Med or Debian Java team. Perhaps the latter is the
better choice - I'm fine with moving it from Debian Med to Debian Java.
However, I'm personally not convinced whether I should join a further
team in addition to several I'm a member of and I'm afraid of another
high volume list. Please keep this in mind when discussing the best
team. I do not expect that upstream is very active in the future.

JAM provides classes for building desktop applications that look and
behave like native applications. applications created using JAM will
look native on Mac, Windows and Linux/UNIX machines.
The packaging seems to be ready (modulo asking Debian Java
team for checking) and is available at
svn://svn.debian.org/svn/debian-med/trunk/packages/libjam-java/trunk/
It could be maintained by Debian Med team because it is a precondition
for Java Evolutionary Biology Library. If somebody thinks this in
principle not medicine / bio-medicine related package should better
go under Debian Java hood that's fine as well.
