That's, it can set alternatives for jre but *not* jdk.
I have sun-java6-jre both sun-java6-jdk installed.

Hi

I cannot reproduce this issue; since it is 2 years old I have assumed it
has been fixed. There was an error with setting one of the alternatives,
but I believe that a bug for that has already been filed against sun-java=
6.

Please note that if you still have an issue, you should file a bug
against the sun-java6 package, since it provides the list of
alternatives for update-java-alternatives.
