Re: RFS: service-wrapper-java [2nd try]

Hi Thomas,

I tried JSVC to run the software i am packaging (I2P router : #448638) and I managed to make it run. But the fact is the upstreams authors used the service-wrapper-java on their router source (as library import) and it is strictly needed on the web configuring tool.

Honestly, for what I tried the wrapper service, it looks as useful as jsvc (and maybe more tunnable).

Hi Rémi,

do you know by change, what the difference is between service-wrapper-java and
jsvc[1] (which already is in Debian). I need a daemon wrapper my project now
and just started reading about jsvc.
Are you sure, that you can not package your thing without service-wrapper-
java? At first thight it seems, that this software is that kind of pseudo free
crippleware that is useful only as payed professional version. From the
feature table it seems to me, that all its free features can (and maybe
should) also be achieved in the /etc/init.d script of your package.
Do you know the "daemon" package? It's also useful for running java software
as daemon. I use it for HBase and Hadoop (both in unstable).
