java-gcj-compat : a missing link?

Hi,

I get this package from Ubuntu (there is a newer release), but I can
make Eclipse understand that this is a JRE home directory unless I do
a /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-gcj-4.0-1.4.2.0/jre/lib/rt.jar linked to
/usr/share/java/libgcj-4.0.0.jar

Just that and all work fine.

This is just a trick for Eclipse (at least 3.0), but without it is
painful to make it to work (to configure) with no Sun or Ibm jdk
installed.

I do not tried it, does it work with kaffe or samblevm?
