Yes, IMO some DD should get in touch with the author and ask him if he
wants to see and maintain his package in debian unstable and if he
agrees start uploading it as his sponsor. Otherwise we have to find a
different way (alioth?) to get it into debian.

I really think we should get this package into sarge and into the
'official answer to how to install a SUN derived JDK".
